Footage of St. John (Maximovich) serving at St. Seraphim's Church,
along with other Russian emigre clerics and active laity.

From the editors: In the following video which features excerpts from films from our parish archives, our visitors will see rare footage of St. John (Maximovich) serving, as well as archbishop of Shanghai and San Francisco, Metropolitan Anastassy (Gribanovski), Bishop Mitrophan (Znosko-Borovski), archpriest Daniel Dumski (the first rector of the parish), Metropolitan Laurus (Shkurla), co-serving with archbishop Averky (Taushev) as a hierodeacon during the small blessing, then as a hieromonk during the great blessing of the church, as well as other active members of the parish and the church in general. St. John, having reposed fifty years ago, had served the Divine Liturgy way back in the 1960's, offering his archpastoral support to the clergy and parishioners during what was a difficult time for the parish. Today we hope that as in the past, this saint continues to bless us with the cross and pray on our behalf; for the clergy and laity who visit the church and participate in parish life.
